Floral Art will be running 4 classes/workshops in September and October. Classes will begin with Adrienn demonstrating how to create a wreath or a table arrangement (using biodegradable mechanics – where possible).
With Mother’s Day just around the corner on Sunday, March 26th, is the ideal opportunity to convey love and appreciation to our mothers on this special celebration. Mother’s Day Flowers are the perfect and traditional way to show your appreciation.
Any bouquet or arrangement of flowers will express your gratitude and is a great gift to send on this special day.
The ancient Greeks were one of the first to specifically celebrate mothers, worshipping the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele. The tradition was adopted by the English during the 1600’s, honouring Mothering Day by taking small cakes and trinkets to mothers.
Anna Jarvis is mainly credited with introducing the idea into the United States - the first Mother's Day observance was a church service held at her request in Grafton, West Virginia (the burial place of her mother) on May 10, 1908. She wore a carnation to that first service due to her mother’s fondness for them.
She went on to play an active role in encouraging the government to establish a national holiday to honour mothers everywhere. By 1911 Mothers Day was being celebrated throughout the United States, as well as in Mexico, Canada, South America, China, Japan, Africa and Europe (including Ireland).
So don’t forget to order Mother’s Day Flowers for March 26th. We have a wonderful selection of bouquets and arrangements to suit any mother’s taste.
